Katie Couric moving to CBS News
"Today" show anchor Katie Couric today formally announced she will be leaving NBC. Calling it "the worst-kept secret in America" and saying she is looking forward to a new challenge, Couric made the rumors official: she is jumping networks to anchor the "CBS Evening News." She will also be featured on "60 Minutes." Today marked Couric's fifteenth year as an anchor on "Today," where she will remain for several more weeks before moving to CBS in September. Strong rumors persist that Meredith Vieira, the host on "The View" and "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" who got her big break at "60 Minutes" in the 1980's, will replace Couric.
